Don't belittle people's fears - fear of what may happen to themselves and the fear for the people they know and love. It's unconscionably rude.

I'm not too afraid for myself, although I'm concerned about financial repercussions to my small investments, social Security, and Medicare. I am scared for my country. Other countries have gone down the path of electing irrational "strong men", scapegoating minorities, and jingoism. It did not turn out well.

There are people with much more obvious and daily fears but things like Social Security and Medicare concern me. Another thing is if they go right for the jugular on the Affordable Care Act. Although I have insurance through work, I was SO relieved that I didn't have to worry about pre-existing conditions being a burden. Now I may have to again. :(

I'm scared for my Hindu friend who went through enough nastiness after 9/11 because of jerks who thought a brown face meant Muslim.

That's terrible. The guy that used to be a friend who started going crazy on FB and I had to drop when he went after me on something I posted gets worse every day and our mutual friends are shell shocked. I mean he went so far as posting a video glorifying running over BLM protesters. It's like a sickness and we all didn't know he had that kind of hatred lurking under the surface.
