Visits from friends are always nice

Even though the poor thing hit all kinds of traffic and got in later than she'd expected, it was so nice to have motherofjedi  over for an all-too-brief visit on her trek up to see her guru in CT. I ordered us a delicious dinner to be delivered from Veganized and we hung out and chatted while she tried to track down the information for her Airbnb place a few streets away.

The place she's in was really nice. I swear if it were offered as a 1BR apartment for rent, I'd seriously consider it after my lease is up in 2019. Even though it was somewhat swampy this morning, I drove us over to the rose garden at Colonial Park since I thought it would be a nice place to stroll while many of the roses were in bloom. I'll have to visit again this summer to see if other pretty roses bloom but here's a few pictures from today's visit:











After the short walk, we stopped back by so she could "check out" as it were and we went for lunch at Noodle GoGo where we stuffed ourselves silly. One thing that was especially delicious was a Peppercorn Tofu which was more of a salt-and-pepper tofu similar to this recipe. I am SO getting that again. It was crispy and flavorful on the outside and creamy on the inside. 

Then it was time to see her off for her trip. Hope all goes well on the rest of your journey, Mojo!

That is so cool! Glad you got to meet up with an LJ friend. I met up with an LJ friend of mine named ghost_light, and her husband, Lonelydumptruck, in downtown Portland on Tuesday. I'm waiting to post about it because Lonelydumptruck took a pic of me and ghost_light and I want to use that pic, once she sends it to me, to put in my post. I didn't get a lot of pictures of where we went since we went to lunch and the place was pretty crowded once it came time to leave. I didn't want to hold up our table with us taking pictures. People waiting might have gotten a bit put out if we had.

Great to see the photos, but mostly it was great to see you! Sorry to hear your back pain has returned. It is certainly strange timing considering all the physical work you did in the past week or two. Do everything you know to get relief.
Lots of traffic from NJ to CT and didn't get there until 4...but coming home yesterday I did it in 6.5 straight hours with only a stop for gas on the TPK (yes, I paid more, but I didn't have to get out of the car or off the highway!).
We'll do it again someday!
