BEHOLD the monstrosities!

Ambrosia was voted as the #1 choice but I was craving the lime fluff. So I made both!

And then a few hours later, I had to edit the ambrosia since I forgot the Cherries of Unnatural Color

I also tossed in a few extra bourbon pecans. I didn't even use a full container of whipped topping between both dishes. Guess as a kid I did like the sugar bomb. Nowadays I prefer it toned down some.

I'll make the Watergate salad over Memorial Day weekend and get this silliness out of my system

Unnatural salads for the win! I hope they satisfied the cravings!

Every so often I will have a yen for something that my mom would make when I was a kid - there aren't too many things - but the one thing I do occasionally crave is macaroni the way she made it.

Macaroni noodles + campbell's tomato soup. Literally boil the macaroni, drain it, open a can of soup and dump it over and mix it through. Tadaa! Then she would take that, dump a chunk of butter into a cast iron frying pan, and fry up a panful of macaroni with butter and salt and pepper - and she would eat that, LOL.

I make it the way she made it for herself, only I add a bit of bbq sauce since, honestly, the tomato soup has very little flavour, LOL

I have no idea where this meal came from - but as kids we loved our bowl of macaroni - she never made mac and cheese - I didn't have Kraft Dinner until I was in college, LOL
