missdiane | Hoping that Autumn weather won't be long in coming!

It's been one long, annoyingly hot summer with only a few breaks. Even though Autumn begins in about ten or so minutes, it's supposed to get into the 80s again today and near 90 tomorrow before it is supposed to dip down this weekend. I'm looking forward to being able to cover up with a blanket and have JuneBug snuggle instead of just lie next to me. I'm looking forward to getting off my lazy behind to take a walk and admire all the different colors like this (taken a few years ago)

I'm hoping that they don't turn the heat on in the apartments until I've had a chance to bake something and I'm certainly hoping we don't have too much of a stretch of "Indian Summer" where it'll be warm outside when the heat is on inside.

I've already visited my favorite orchard a couple of times and would like to go visit one I haven't been to before. Everyone seems to love summer but it sucks the life out of me and I've gained weight and have been in a schlump. I intend to try to rectify that...ok...I might indulge a wee bit so it'll be the slow and easy path back to health.

Like you, I am looking forward to some cooler weather, but they tell us that we will have to wait for October before anything cools down long term here. Sigh... today is just a tease.

I feel the same way. It's going to be above 90 for the next week or two and then it's only going into the 80s. I know July and August were the hottest on record here and I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens for September.

Fall is my favorite season. I love the cooler weather, the fall colors, the trees, the hot cider. It's all good, well, it will be when it finally gets here.

I think this weekend we're supposed to get a little taste at night with it maybe getting into the low 50s. I'm thinking I'll do laundry on Saturday morning instead since Sunday's supposed to be the really cool morning and I'll bake that batch of Ikea lemon muffins that's been looking at me from the cupboard.

I hope you guys get a cold spell soon!

Mmm...I do need to make some hot cider. Love that stuff.

We have a cool night tonight, but then it's back into the higher temps. They are saying maybe by October.

Hot cider is one of my fave things in the fall.

Bless, honey...cooler weather does sound marvelous (and it needs to happen soon!) I know my own spirits will pick up when it is cooler again...

Thanks! I used to live right around the corner from the ecopreserve. This year I want to venture down to Princeton and get some good fall pictures :)
