Today was a trial by fire
Holy freakin' hell, what a DAY. Started off at 1am, the damned smoke detector in the hallway started doing the chirp again every 30 seconds. It's still at it as I type and I'm wondering when the super is going to FIX the freaking thing (reported it more than once). I put painters tape around the door and a towel at the bottom to muffle the sound some. I did find my earplugs but I don't know if I'll use them much since I lay on my side and those would be uncomfortable so ASMR videos to try to sleep it is. I suspect it's not going to be fixed for a while. I can't reach it to change the battery myself though I'm damned tempted to use tongs to put tape over it to muffle the chirping more. Whatever.
Aaaanyway, it was a fasting night for the annual checkup so that made things so much fun that I couldn't have breakfast. The mental health questionnaire indicated I'm depressed and anxious (YA THINK?) but as acknowledged, most of what's causing it is external to me and I'm dealing well enough...sorta. I'd really like to stop coughing and gagging in the morning when I need to leave the apartment (nothing like picking up some lovely agoraphobia during the panorama - I mean I'm sure I'm not the only one). She was concerned during the physical exam that my stomach is so hard and distended and that I have other tummy issues. That's not a new thing to me and removing the gallbladder years ago didn't help it much. But she thought it enough concern to send me for upper and lower xrays and to probably hunt up a gastro doc. *sigh* fiiiiine.
I was having a hard time finding a gynecologist that was a)Available in the near future or b)Didn't have horrific reviews. I just want to get the pap smear thing over with since it's been too long. I didn't know my current GP can do those but didn't have time today so I'll be getting that fun done on July 5. I also have my script for a mammogram which I'll schedule soon. Just...not thinking about that today.
So more to follow up on there. Oh and as usual, they had to get the expert to get blood from me since I have deep, roly-poly veins. I was making cracks about you'd think it would be easy since I'm practically translucent. That amused them. Hopefully the results aren't too awful but at this point, I'm not expecting good numbers. Surprisingly, my BP was good again.
Aaaanyway #2, left there, got scans done (XRay tech was a sweetheart). Evidently I have a high diaphragm according to the xray tech. Huh. Wonder if that's the tummy distension or if it's always been that way? Probably explains why I can't wear underwire bras. Then I got home and FINALLY got to eat. Well, after giving the cats a snack, naturally.
Then I fucked up. I was getting emails over and over where someone was requesting a code to get into my microsoft account. I logged in there and requests were from all over the world. Ugh, hackers. Dudes, give it up. I "fixed" it by creating a new alias and being a complete MORON, didn't realize that it would completely inactivate my hotmail account and according to their tech support, once you do that, you can't undo it. Great. I have access to the old emails but since I can neither send nor receive new ones on that account, I had to contact all manner of places and sites to try to change the email address. The ancestry/genealogy ones were a little too easy to fix, apple was a little fussy but it's swapped on all the devices I know of. Most other small business ones were ok. Walmart was a no go so I deleted payment stuff from that account and created a new one. EA is still up in the air since I couldn't change it so I have an email ticket in to them.
I had to call chewy.com to change the email address but I had to contact them anyway because since this day was an absolute hellscape, I had some fun there too. I opened a box of Nutro pet food packs and one of them had opened at one point - no clue how, it looked like it was torn into? And there was dried food goo over everything. Ewww. I was thinking there was some faint smell and well, discovered that. It gets better - and by better I mean worse! I was trying to wash the stuff off the other packs that seemed ok and realized that there were a lot of uniformly shaped little brown...bits on all of it and then it dawned on me what they were and my one lucky thing today is that they were dead. Dried maggots. EW EW EW. Well, I wasn't trusting anything and tossed the unopened packs back in the box and shuffled out and tossed it into the dumpster. The good people at Chewy set up a replacement to be shipped right out. If you've not used them for your pet needs, do so. They are the absolute best.
I'm flipping exhausted. I didn't try to pick up my meds from the pharmacy that I've used once before. Today is jinxed. Maybe I'll try tomorrow.

As always, Chewy is wonderful except when they aren't. Is there a way you can call or contact Codes (code enforcement) for where you live and tell them what is going on? Hard enough for YOU, I know that noise bothers the kitties as well.
Today has GOT to be a better day. Many hugs!

I'm hoping for improvement. The wound near JonJon's eye is a little bigger. It doesn't appear to be causing him pain but he needs to leave it alone (and I need to get a cone of shame in case he doesn't)
