Now I know where I get it
I guess I get my "which side effect will I get?" tendency from Dad. Friday night he started to get the fatigue and slept most of the day (and fell a couple of times so I told him to have Mom's old walker nearby so THAT doesn't happen again). Last night they gave him the Paxlovid and a couple of hours after he was sick many times. Evidently that's one of the less common side effects. Fabulous. He said he didn't know how he'd get hold of anyone if he needed to and I said I was surprised there wasn't an emergency button. He said there was some sort of button but he didn't know what it was.
They gave him an anti-nausea which seemed to help this morning and he did have a bagel with some "red" (?) on it which was good. He's sounding pretty rough but not worse than yesterday which I hope is good. I'm wondering whether they'll continue to give him the Paxlovid considering the awful effects. Someone said they'd check on him again soon and I told him to ask about the button to see if that's an emergency button and he was going back to nap again.
He was happy that whatever dispute with the cable company ended and he has CBS back so he can watch CBS Sunday Morning which he likes. This morning was a tribute to Charles Osgood who died recently at 91. Dad was all "wow!" at his age until I reminded him that it's only 4 years older than him and he chuckled.
So he's feeling pretty awful still but at least in somewhat decent spirits considering.

I guess the news about your Dad isn't BAD, but I am sorry he's ill.

I don't want to call him too much since I don't want to wake him and I don't want him falling to get to the phone so I've been antsy today. I don't like that he fell twice (and one of the times bumped his head). I always have to remind him to tell the staff when stuff like this happens.

Hope he feels better soon!

Covid, shit! I hope he is over it soon and I hope the side-effects will ease.
