Well today's going to hell quickly

I received a notice on my door that from 10-4 tomorrow there won't be water due to some repairs somewhere.

I thought I'd better make extra ice cubes and fill the brita and all and the ice cubes in the freezer door were wet on top. I thought maybe I left the door slightly ajar when getting something out of the freezer for lunch, at least I hoped. But I checked things again just now - a few hours later and things are starting to get soft. SHIT.

Emily is going to stop by on her way home so I can try to at least save the Smalls cat food but I've a feeling that the whole fridge is going belly up. When I moved in years ago, it's always had some issues with water leaking onto the inside of the fridge but other than that, things worked ok. I emailed the apartment complex just now and I hope they can get me a replacement quickly.

What a mess.

they'd better get you a replacement quickly. (Like I can do anything about it.) Is there anything I can do from this long distance?

Send good vibes if you got any to spare. I took out a full bag of stuff that would go bad quickly and will probably take another bag in the morning when I head to work. I took off all my magnets and stuff and all the stuff off the top and it looks decidedly naked

Crossing fingers that I get a response tomorrow morning and they can swap it out quickly. Emily was able to rescue most of the Smalls and some other things to put in her spare freezer and fridge but once I get a new working one, I have a big ol' shopping trip to do.

Thank GOODNESS I discovered it and was able to contact FreshDirect to cancel the grocery delivery that was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
