Done for 3 years

By the time I actually got in front of the judge, it was well into the afternoon and I was HURTING. I marked it on the questionnaire but the judge saw it pretty clearly and excused me. I probably would've been excused anyway because another one of the questions asked whether we knew the area and gave an address and it was in my town.

It was going to be a tough jury to fill since it involved sexual assault on a minor. I was called with a huge group of more than 80 people and near the end of the day, they had to call even more people. I didn't get to leave until after 4 and it had been a while since I experienced the gridlock traffic getting home. Emily didn't get a chance to roll by and give the kitties a treat so they were pretty hungry. They want more right now but I need them to pace themselves so I don't get any barfing.

On the bright side, lunch break was a little over an hour so I hobbled over to Noodle Is Calling and got their vegan pork belly ramen which was amazing. I hadn't been there in years and the last time was with my friend Lena who I lost to cancer several years ago. Miss her lots.

Going to stall the kitties a few minutes more then give them second dinner and hit the recliner to rest. I'm glad I brought a book which I managed to read nearly half of. Considering I haven't read in ages, that felt good. Going to send it to someone when I'm done if I like the whole thing.

Season of the hork?

JuneBug sounds all congested which might be seasonal since I've actually been able to use Actual Real Air to cool the place at night by opening the windows. Looking forward to when I don't need to turn the AC on in the afternoon. This morning I was mildly concerned since Junie horked up a hairball and I was weighing whether it was just a hairball and should I give her the anti-vomiting meds? However, cue up not even ten minutes later and the boy comes out and even more dramatically horks up his own hairball so I have my answer. I don't recall more hairballs happening during season change but also, they're both getting older and I think it's just tougher for their systems to process the hair through their digestive systems.

My back is twinging some in the tell-tale spot so I am WFH this morning since I also have a webcall so it's not like it matters whether I'm doing that from work or home anyway. Aside from kitty whining, at least it'll be quieter than the office. I'll need to take plenty of breaks because I am scheduled for jury duty next week and I don't have time to reach out to the substitute doctor that's filling in for my GP that left the practice to try to convince them to get me paperwork to defer jury duty. I'm hoping that my number doesn't come up or that I get dismissed quickly.
