You have that exactly right. People are led to believe that "organic" means no pesticides are used which is completely incorrect. I bought into the hype for a while until I realized it was all a gimmick. The one thing I do try to do in the summer, though, is to buy more locally sourced produce in general. It tastes fresher and is better for the carbon footprint.
