missdianeEven though I had most all of the blinds closed and the little blanket fort over top of the kitty window seat, with both AC units running, it got to about 82 inside last night and it's supposed to be even hotter outside over the weekend. Living on the 2nd floor bites.
So today - after getting up at 6ish and doing some WFH time and then resting the back - I found the metal tape and reinforced the insulation on the portable AC unit in the bedroom and duct taped around the vent in the window. I also took a cool shower last night then dried things off and created a sad but hopefully effective block over the window in the bathroom.
Yesterday I got a few things sent by Shipt as well as got a pizza delivered (haven't had a pizza in aaaages) and I won't be cooking ANYTHING for days. I also got a 10 inch fan that charges up by USB in case of any brown or blackouts. There are some storms forecast for today which I'm both for and against them. Sure they might cool things down for a while but they also might knock out power.
I don't deal well with heat at all. Sunday is forecast to get up to 103ish so I'm doing what I can to keep it as cool as possible inside. I do wish that I had ceiling fans but I know that I'm far better off than the poor folks on the other side of the pond with these conditions and no AC at all. Thinking of you guys.
