missdianeThe other day I was on a virtual town hall thingie with the executive Dean of our campus, farm folks and Senator Cory Booker (who had to dip out for a bit to vote on something)
Since I've listened to previous town halls, I get their emails and this is the beginning of one this afternoon

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.), a member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee, and U.S. Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) introduced the bicameral Opt for Health with SNAP (OH SNAP), Close the Fruit and Vegetable Gap Act of 2023, legislation that would significantly expand the successful Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP), which incentivizes low-income recipients to consume fruits and vegetables.
I'm a little leery of the legislation in general since I was irritated at him on a previous town hall for focusing less on access to food for those in need and more about the fatphobia, but I digress. I couldn't help but chuckle at the acronym on this one.
