missdianeGot a call from Dad that I translated Dad speak that he got tested and he's got the ol' Rona. He hadn't mentioned anything about feeling yucky but then he mentioned that they were "clearing out" the main area so yeah, it's the whole facility. He's quarantined to his room for at least 5 days which he found it amusing that DARN! He'll not be able to go to the Bible Study that Sis wanted him to try out on Monday. Sooooo disappointed.
I chatted with Sis who got a call when I was off the phone with her so she texted me that a couple of the workers tested positive so they started testing everyone and yep, Dad's positive and they're going to give him preventative meds. Hopefully he remains asymptomatic. He won't mind chilling out in his room and coloring and watching movies. He did say it'll be a little awkward to eat which Sis said if he's not using his computer, he can put it on the floor and eat at the desk. Smart thinking. When he was at the previous nursing home, they'd asked me about vaccines for the parents and I told them that any shots that the old farts agree to are fine by me so I'm pretty sure he got the laundry list of them back in October.
BIL had run him by some snacks the other day since he was low (tea, lunchables, coffee creamer, hummus snack packs, etc.) and just yesterday, my care package with three boxes of KCup coffee, two packages of biscotti and a bag full of snack size bags of mixed nuts arrived so as long as he continues to feel ok, he's all set. I told him that if he loses his sense of taste and smell that I need him to keep eating since he's too skinny as it is and needs his strength.
I've a feeling we'll be chatting a lot the next few days when he gets bored.
