Yesterday I woke up with the feeling that I NEEDED to just "get the day over with as quickly as possible." It was a full month since Mom and the nightmare rollercoaster that followed. I'm hoping that things will start to calm soon. Dad has ups and downs as he's trying to get used to his new place but it really does seem like a far better one. He had the opposite issue as before and didn't go to the bathroom for a few days but finally got that sorted out late last night. Unfortunately he didn't feel well and when I called him about 9:30 he sounded pretty groggy. I'll pester him soon if he doesn't call me but I hope a nap and a decent lunch got him feeling peppier. Sis did roll by when I was on the phone with him and she took a picture of the December calendar to send to me. It is chock full of Christmas activities, though no lunch outings. I'll be nudging Dad to participate in ones he'll possibly like. I also hope Sis was able to "train" him on using the phone in his room and the TV that she hooked up. He gets so bored in the evenings right now.
One thing I bought a while ago for myself was a Bonne Maman advent calendar (I also got an Ikea one when we went there). So for each morning that I know I'll like the flavor or are at least willing to try it - I'm weird about fruit - my breakfast will be either one bigger piece of toast or two smaller ones with the tiny jar of spread. This morning it was white nectarine, peach and lemon and it was light tasting and nice. It made me sad since I was hoping to let Mom know each day which flavor I got since last year, she would ask me what kind of truffle or chocolate I got each day in my Ikea one.
I need to figure out what to get at the grocery tomorrow morning so that I can do a small amount of meal prep on the forecasted rainy Sunday. I'm trying to think of things that would be healthy/lower calorie/decent amount of protein but tasty.
Hope everyone is doing ok. Sending hugs
