I was a nervous wreck all day, constantly checking when the new furniture would arrive (even though I knew I had a window between 3-6. About 4:45 the guys showed up and as per usual, I had to guide them over the phone and go down and wave to show them where to deliver things. I only missed three cat toys under the old couch that I didn't manage to shove out with the swiffer and there weren't too many dust bunnies to clear.
The recliner came in fine since it's a small one but I was getting really worried because BOY they had to maneuver and shove (thankfully they had a cover) to try to get the couch in the door. I though for a moment that I'd have to return it which would suck since my old couch is now hanging out next to the dumpster. But they were determined and good and got it in. I felt badly that I didn't have any bottled water or juice to offer them since I use a brita filter and don't drink juice much. After they left and I put most things back in place, I managed to put together dinner and then I was BEAT.
Anyway, the couch looked smaller in the store. LOL. When I sit on it, my feet dangle at least 5 or so inches from the floor. Though I didn't order or pay for them, they also tossed in matching throw pillows so those are tossed in the bedroom. I'll have to get a vacuum bag to put/keep them in.

I didn't realize that the back cushions are attached to the couch itself so I can't rotate them. Ah well. It's quality Lay-Z-Boy so shouldn't wear out very quickly. I currently sleep on the couch (long story), so I tucked a fresh flat sheet on the bottom cushions and got fresh pillowcases. I slept pretty comfortably last night, though I'm really hoping the new couch smell fades quickly since I had some dry mouth. Yes, I did get the stain treatment stuff and while it's not an overwhelming stench, I'm sensitive to scents.
The kitties don't like that they can no longer hide under the furniture and currently they get freaked out when I recline the chair but they will get used to that quickly enough.

Miss JuneBug had already claimed the chair and lounged in it a while. She's a brave girl even though it rocks slightly when she's climbing on it. I've had to scold the boy a few times NOT to scratch the couch, though in a few days, I'm getting some of those plastic panels that you attach with both adhesive and little screw in clear pins. There's a pet scratcher thing that did come that's dangling over the one arm but of course he's not yet scratching THAT. The goof.
Another thing on the way are some carpeted panels with adhesive on the back so I can replace the torn up bits on the cat tree. I also got a staple gun to really secure them in. Anything to keep the new furniture nice for a while.
Might post more later but spoiled furbabies want a treat.
