First dose of metformin last night and yeah, the tummy bloating and pain a few hours later was SO fun. Ugh. Hopefully that chills out. I had what I'd hoped was a non-triggering dinner of a salad with just a little vinaigrette, chicken breast cooked in the air fryer, strawberries and 1/4 of a small avocado. For "dessert" I had a small hunk of the sweet potato that I baked up (totally not to get the apartment warm, nope) with a little of the keto whipped cream that melted and some cinnamon and nutmeg.
Around 8 is when the metformin pain kicked in so thankfully I was settling down already and so I put on some soothing sounds on YT and lay there willing the owies to get lost and the basketball someone snuck in my stomach to deflate. I hope this chills out soon.
My dinner around 6 was not big enough and at 2am while the tummy was better feeling, I was hungry. I had a very small snack to shut things up and also avoid stomach upset since I try not to snack overnight anymore. I tested my blood sugar then and then again around 7am and both times it was around 115. The 7am one shows that the drug is already kicking in since from previous testing I get that "dawn phenomenon" where it bumps up in the morning even if I've had nothing for 12 hours or more.
But anyway, off to the races. I'll have to figure out if there's a better strategy for dinner to minimize the side effects.
In other news, we were supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow. Instead, we got over 10 overnight. Though it wasn't much of a workout to go outside and brush off my car and the cars on either side of mine since it was far fluffier than the last round. I brushed the neighboring cars since last time the landscaping crew shoveled around the cars and if they do it again, I wanted to make sure that when it melts, it dries quicker. Supposed to get up to 38 hopefully today so that should reduce the volume.
