I helped out the evil empire business/budget/hr fiefdom by per-request-on-the-fly putting together an explanation of the funding I administer and the last three years of total award information. I also sent them a PDF of a powerpoint presentation that I was asked to put together but never got the opportunity to present about how the USDA land grant formulas are calculated and how our numbers stack up vs our Northeast US region as well as how we stack up against the other Universities in the Big 10 Conference. On the original slides, I didn't bother putting my name or the data source since it was going to be a presentation given by me to our internal group.

The big bossaroonie of the fiefdom popped by my office just a little bit ago and asked if I could edit the data source information in because now they're all hyped to share it with the University's Chancellor's office. You betcha! So I added the appropriate text box to the slides

...ADDITIONALLY I made sure to add my name, title and office information to the intro slide AND restricted the ability to edit or extract the information when I turned the PPT into a PDF. I know if the Chancellor's office has any questions, they're going to have to come back to me to get answers since I seem to be the Keeper of All Knowledge but damn I'm gonna get my name out to the higher ups at the University for proper credit. And maybe one day a job or something.

Since I got a 7:15am start at work and was GO GO GO the entire time, when I got home, I gave the kitties a lunch snack, made me some lunch (I was HONGRY) and after tending to a few more items, I decided that I'd go check out the pool at the Y. Yeah, technically I was "working from home" but this week I have been doing SO much data work/screen staring that last night I started to see jagged lines. Uh oh

I checked to see if it was both eyes and yep, it was so that means SHUT IT ALL DOWN because migraine is a comin'. I turned off the lights, put on some soothing sounds and the kitties managed to leave me alone for an hour or so to cut the migraine mostly off at the pass. I did have a dull thumping headache and some fuzziness but nothing like it could have been.

But anyway, that meant that I'd been pushing too hard this week and I earned my venture out. TBH, I don't take enough of a break as I'm supposed to for disability (I generally feed kitties and eat lunch while resting in the recliner to give the back a break). It's usually only half an hour to 45 minutes so if my back is ok with the usual shorter rest period, if I can take another 45-50 minutes out in the middle of the day (before the ankle-biters swarm in for "family swim" near 4pm) to the Y to jog around the pool, I'm not going to feel guilty. It's doctor ordered, after all.

Anyway, anyway, the water felt really nice and I did a lot of jogging in place and flailing about for a solid half hour. Next time I'll go over and get some water weights or a pool noodle out of the cabinet. I met a nice older couple and another nice lady doing the same light exercise.

Figuring out the whole locker room/dressing room situation and getting changed with privacy and getting chlorine rinsed off me and my suit were another matter that I need to make some adjustments to. There's a hook but no shelf for stuff in the shower so I need some sort of hanging caddy if I'm going to bring body and hair wash stuff. I'm also looking forward to the big coverall arriving sometime next week since I'd prefer to use the "family" changing room that's closer to the exercise pool and you're not to be traipsing around there nude (not that I would anyway since I get uncomfortable about judgy looks). The pool shoes worked well, though.

Ok, need to feed the beasties again and get the last of the Friday work stuff done
