Honestly, I'd rather have no supposed appreciation party than a half-assed one. Because now they're going to act as if we should be eternally grateful to them and never ever complain because they "did something for us."
I'm surprised they didn't go with hiring a motivational speaker to "improve productivity" or some such crap.
