Sis and BIL are even worse. So Dad said the churching was "fine" but I guess the post-church lunch isn't a thing now since they just brought him back and thankfully he managed to make in time for lunch at the facility. But he'd told her he was hoping for some fresh groceries (usually things like bananas, a few lunchables, hummus snack packs, OJ).

She texted me because I guess she didn't like that I mailed him a box with coffee, dry creamer, biscotti and some trail mix (which thank goodness I did when he was in COVID lockdown so he'd have some treats). She'd told him that she was going to pick up some things for him but I guess she decided to play a power trip there and texted me that he needs to ask for snacks from the facility. What a bitch.

If she keeps up this nonsense, he intends to tell them that he's not going to go to church with them. I mean they abandoned the parents at the apartment they made them move to upon threat of never visiting them again, what's the difference now?

Sis is soooooooo busy building her new and larger house that she doesn't need anyway. I'm sure she'll want to come collect him in May or whenever it's done to show it off.

I'm so sorry for your father in all this mess. Your sister's behavior is simply awful, letting her ego be more important than her father's well being and comfort.

Glad you at least are sending him treats and behaving in a loving manner.

Her ego has always been a problem yet he'll still forgive daddy's girl. I hope that she stops being an ass at least for a little while.

Aha, daddy's girl, huh? Hard to deal with that sometimes. It's just sad for your father to be subject to such misguided unpleasantness in the last years of his life.

Yep. She's Daddy's Girl and allows her to treat him like crap and gives her every chance. My brother was Momma's Boy and the same. I was the quintessential middle child and the one that has been there for them when the other two weren't.

Dad's pretty unhappy that Sis told him that she was going to go pick up snacks for him (he even offered to come along but she said no, she'd get stuff) and then she sent the passive aggressive texts to me and go him nothing and even worse, didn't bother to call him to tell him she wasn't going to get him anything. He's about ready to tell them that he's not going to church with them anymore. If that's the only way that they'll socially interact with him, he thinks he can do without. Damned sad.
