Firstly, a very happy birthday to spikes ! I hope today is a fun and fabulous one.
Secondly, good luck vibes to halfmoon_mollie at getting the tummy checked today. Hope all is well
Update-ish on JuneBug. We didn't have a good night. I was almost ready to drive to the emergency vet at 1am but since I can't really safely drive in the dark and especially not when it's somewhat rainy, I just kept up with care as I could. She did eat little bits before and I thought her litter box deposits were improving but then at 1, she didn't have a good litter box deposit and didn't even cover it which was unlike her because she got out and had a bile barfing. Poor kiddo.
A little while after she still wanted some food but only picked at it. Then around 2 I remembered I had a prescription gel from last year that I hadn't used and found. It's an appetite stimulant and also supposed to help with nausea/vomiting. It didn't expire until 2026 so I found my disposable gloves and put a dose on her ear. I'll have to say, it works quickly. About half an hour later she was sitting and staring at me for food so I gave her a little food with topper which she at about 1/4 of it. But then it really kicked in and each hour she was waking me up for more. She managed to much up the equivalent of half a can of food with some pumpkin mixed in before she finally allowed me to sleep a little. I'll be home today but I do need to try to get work done since there's a deadline today.
If can manage to slow down any more vomiting and if her litterbox deposits aren't as bad, I'll hold off on the trauma of a vet visit. When it comes to pancreatitis, managing symptoms is about the only real treatment.
