Getting prepared for activity
Oct. 17th, 2024 09:25 amI have my follow up with the gastro on Nov 5, likely to talk about endoscopy/colonoscopy since I've had neither. But his talk with me seems to imply that while I need weight loss and more activity to combat the fatty liver disease, there's nothing we should do about my liver bumps for now except keep an eye on them. I was actually incorrect about one interpretation about the test about the bowel (websites did not give clear information even though I looked at many) and it's doing what it should and doesn't indicate things like Crohn's (at least on MRI). So that's good although we still don't have answers about my random swelling up. Hopefully doing what I can to reverse the fatty liver helps some.
With the reading on the wonky fallopian tube and fibroids, he also recommended a gyno near him (my GP that left the practice was also the one screening for issues there so I needed one anyway). First appointment I could get is early January but lately that's the usual timeframe to get an appointment.
Anyway, since things seem stable right now, I went online and signed up for the Y membership as well as I set up the thing through my insurance company that if I go 12 times per month to the gym or walk 10K steps in a day or a combination of both for 12 days, then they'll deposit $20 in my checking account each month I hit that goal. Monetary incentive to get off my ass helps. My knee is being a real bitch the last couple of days but I have it taped today so hopefully tomorrow I can go to the Y and try out the pool. I have my phone set up to track walking but if I find that I can get anywhere close to the 10K goal any day, I'm wondering about one of those wrist devices that do that - anyone ever use one?
Last week I'd ordered some swim shoes and a mesh bag both from Speedo. The shoes cover the whole foot so they might be a little challenging to get on and off until they've stretched some but that's not bad since it means they won't slip off in the pool. Also, the bottoms seemed nicely grippy. One of my older swimsuits fit ok though the sides of the attached panties rode a little high so I ordered a short swim skirt thing from Lands End to wear over my bottom. The only other thing that hasn't arrived yet is one of those big coveralls to wear from the shower to the changing room that should get here next week.
Fingers crossed that I can get stronger and fix some of my guts without throwing anything out of place. Heh.
