Down to the wire
30 September 2025 12:49Not surprisingly, having bouts of panic but all in all, dealing well enough with them considering. Got my pre-pre call asking about the medical history (again) and general health and all that. I'll get another call sometime between 3-5 with when to arrive tomorrow morning and such. I agreed to get the flu shot while there so I'll feel EXTRA crappy. Woo.
When they tagged me after the type and screen yesterday and the tag has to stay on, that's when it really felt REAL real and my tummy started churning

We have even more supplies than these to do our best to make sure that re-admittance is NOT a thing. Emily is a wound care expert after taking care of her Dad in his last stretch, to the point that the nurses were all impressed with her work.
I'm packing the bag for the estimated two-day stay that Emily will give to me once I'm in my room. I bought a new nightie that buttons in front and a cuddle duds fuzzy wrap thingie and some fuzzy slipper socks with grippy bottoms at Kohl's on the way home today. I also have a plastic bag with toiletry bits and in the bag will be my iPad, iPhone, wireless headset. She'll bring me something to change into when we're ready to be discharged as well as stretchy adult diapers for that just in case moment. I'm not sure what else to bring but I don't want to get too carried away. I've never stayed in the hospital overnight before.
Doing the last of the work bits today, if nothing else, to keep me occupied. Later today I'm also scrubbing out both kitty boxes so Emily doesn't have to deal with that.
Eeep.

Date: 30 Sep 2025 18:15 (UTC)I do have a little container of vaseline since I heard that putting a bit on your lips helps and I'll grab one of the many tubes of lotion we have. I have the charger though it's not a very long cord. I'm sure Emily will hang out a while so she can be my plugger lol.
Emily also suggested a book though I have issues with concentration. I'll find something fluffy. I have an insulated water bottle which I'll pack since I do like my water COLD and good idea on the teabags, especially peppermint for the inevitable GAS
