The AC in the living room managed to limp along enough to keep it below 80F while it got to 90F outside. However, even when it was getting in the 60s overnight, even with a fan in the window, everytime I turned off the AC, the temperature quickly started to go up. Finally by 3am it was starting to go the other direction but I still couldn't sleep well so by 5:30 I gave up and started the day.
Right now I have a fan in the kitchen window blowing in full blast and another fan positioned to blow into the bedroom. It's 72 in the bedroom and 71 in the living room. I'm hoping I can get the place down to 70 or better before I have to close the windows and ponder when to turn on the AC again.
To add insult to this, there was a notice on my door that they'll be shutting the water off between 11 and 1. They did this on Monday and claimed it would be off for "15 minutes" when it ended up being off for a couple of hours.I filled a bucket in the tub in case it was off for long enough that I'd need flushing water and made sure my Brita filter was filled. When the water finally came back on, it ran brown too long for my comfort and even some kind of charcoal bits. So this time, I'm filling more containers with water to use for dishwashing, making sure that all the dishes are clean before shut off time and will again fill a bucket in the tub.
Even though it's going to be hot out, I'm tempted to pop out somewhere to get a coffee or bubble tea or something during the shut off period and use the bathroom out and maybe go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. We'll see. I may end up having adrenaline drop and end up napping through it and then when it's back on, running the water until I'm not grossed out.
