I have some earplugs from when I first got the kitties and couldn't sleep. Though bass is harder since you can actually feel it if they have it going loud enough. Hopefully it's something they don't do often. At least they didn't keep it up too late and they seem to have to get up around 6 during the week.
Have you met them? Are they possibly nice enough for you to ask them to turn down the bass a little. I've been lucky that my neighbors are good that way. When my band used to rehearse here I was worried the neighbors would be disturbed and I'd asked them if it bothered them.
Turns out they all loved traditional Irish music and enjoyed listening. My upstairs neighbor used to invite a few friends over on band rehearsal night and he told me it would be like 'pub night' for them. Having their pints and listening to the music. :D
I haven't even seen them, actually and I'm not the kind to go knocking on doors. Thankfully last night was quiet and I'm crossing my fingers that it's only an occasional occurrance.
That's cool about your neighbors liking your music and coming over to party! Maybe I should dig out my doumbek and give it a go again lol
My Irish piper friend is going to start a session in Highland Park, so if I'm able to go (I can only hitch a ride with someone) I'll let you know. It's supposed to be the first friday of the month, at Pinos? 8-11 pm.
I know what you mean about being in bed my 10...though you're younger than me!:D. I kind of got that feeling about them wanting to be 'the' spot, as they've hosted a few things before. I've done gigs at Tumulty's but they just didn't get in to the Irish music.
Your piper friend should talk to the folks at Ruthie's Bagel Dish in HP if he/she hasn't already. They are VERY much into Irish music and I do think they've occasionally done evening events (though I'd love an "Irish brunch" thing, personally lol)
I'm crossing crossables that it only happens every now and then. It wasn't over-the-line loud but I'd gotten used to rather quiet neighbors and was bummmmmmed to have the minor disturbance with all the rest of the crap going on.
I can't get a raise until Bosslady leaves but I need to suck it up and ask for overtime (which my hourly pay at time and a half would be SWEET)

Ooooooooooooo...if I got to move to where I'd like to move, I'd be in WALKING DISTANCE
