Had a good enough Thanksgiving dinner EXCEPT my damned back is acting up yet again. It really, really, really wants to go out completely so I have to lie down a lot which is tedious and annoying. Only if I can manage to avoid the week down with spasms will I consider the last five months of going to the gym worth all the trouble.

Though I still sorely need to eat better and when I say "better" I mean "less." I have GOT to get control of my nervous nibbles and drop some weight to take the stress off the back.

May babble more later if I can sit up for longer.

Shit, back problems are the worst :( My guy has a physical job (and has for 25 years) so his back is always f*cked and there's so little anyone can do (I give a lot of back rubs and reiki sessions but the bath is out 'cause he doesn't fit)

I so hope it feels better ASAP! Tiger Balm is a big favourite in this house lol

It's THE most frustrating thing because it keeps happening every six months and we can't figure out why. I'm guessing more than half the issue is stress-based. I've been going to the gym 3-5 days/ week since the last bout in July. If I can keep things from full on seizing spasms, I'll consider it mostly a success.

lol my favorite is ice packs and aleve.

Thanks. This right around the holidays thing is getting old. It was right before the 4th of July before and then right near Christmas right before that.

I'm crossing my fingers that I'm feeling well enough tomorrow to be upright for most of the day. Bonus points if I can get to the gym to slowly and carefully trudge on the treadmill.

Hope you're starting to feel better now.

If it's happening around holidays (which also seem to coincide with big stress times at work), I'd bet it's mostly stress-related too.

Fingers crossed that the exercise helps - have you tried something like yoga or tai-chi?

Poor D! I hope you get a chance to get in a good rest. I know the holidays can be insane and stressful.

I need to improve my eating habits too. This time of year when I start feeling extra tired and groggy and tend to overdo the sugar and caffeine.

Feel better soon <3
