missdianeThe girl has been stuck to me like GLUE today. Granted, she didn't wake me up last night for food but she did take advantage of when I would get up during the night to look at me expectantly for food. I was able to omit one of the middle of the night feedings and I also had longer stretches of sleep so I hope that can continue to improve during this week. However her being my little shadow today is changing my mind about leaving the boy there an extra week.
Not to mention, I just got the estimate and it would be $183 PER DAY to leave him there extra time. Uh...yikes. Much as I'd like them to get him on a better eating schedule, there's no guarantee that it would stick when he gets home. The having to be vigilant about disposal of kitty waste and not snuggling too long will be slightly frustrating but it was unexpected to have Junie not letting me out of her sight today. We may have to get the boy back on Friday or Saturday if he's ready to release by then. Yeah there will be hissing and swatting and all that but that will happen no matter when I fetch him and it's too much money to gamble with it helping more than just taking money from my bank account.
On the positive side, I got his check in call at 9am and his levels (thyroid and radiation) are already dropping well. Also, they said he's been pretty chill in his little lead enclosure but that could be the gabapentin talking. Oh yeah, I will soooo be asking for a short term script for that.
I keep assuring JuneBug that I'm not giving her away and I didn't give the boy away but her expression seems to indicate that she doesn't believe me.
