My bedroom AC started freezing over yesterday and it's supposed to get to the mid-90s today. I seem to have such bad luck with AC units and when they fail, it's such a production to get someone to haul them to the dumpster. Why hasn't anyone created technology of a smaller, lighter unit to at least somewhat cool a place that's more eco-friendly? Hmph.

Hopefully this unit can limp through the rest of the summer, though it seems there's no end in sight to hot weather. Also, due to road construction, once I get home today, I'll be stuck at my apartment until the end of the week. I saw the big trucks looming closer to the entrance to my apartment parking lot so when I leave work this morning, I'm going to roll by TJ's to get a few fresh extras so I can hunker down. I'm going to get some salad mix since if it's going to be overly hot inside, I'm going to want cool food.

Ughhhh, I have a stupid faculty member right now insisting on scheduling a fucking Zoom call instead of just asking me questions via email. Whyyyyy? Well, since I'm taking Thursday and Friday off as vacation, it's today or tomorrow or just EMAIL ME.

They always make shit more complicated than it needs to be.

Ugh, it is really humid here, so I have the AC on again. Since you are in an apartment, you couldn't use a ductless mini-split AC, could you? I think they are much expensive anyway.

If you want really eco-friendly cooling you need to get a punkah fan and hire a punkah-wallah to operate it. https://www.amusingplanet.com/2019/09/punkah-hand-operated-ceiling-fans-of.html
You will have to feed the punkah-wallah, but vegan food should be fine with them. : )

Road construction is a pain. They just finished making a mess here and the roads are lumpier than ever. They need to invent some kind of surface that doesn't get potholes. Or hover cars that glide a couple feet above the ground.

The apartment provides one meh wall AC unit and most folks get a window AC for their bedrooms. I had a window one and should have tried to take it out for the winter. So I got another "portable" (using that word very loosely) one last year and it worked well up until yesterday.

LOL I could see the kitties trying to jump up at the punkah.

Oh I have an update on the FREAKING ROADS to type.
