Welllll crap.
Nov. 1st, 2022 12:50 pmDan that came up to show off his costume yesterday just sent us this email:
Hi all,
Sorry to bring potentially bad news. I was asymptomatic the day I was at work (felt normal the entire time). Last night I got what mimicked lesser-strength version of the vaccine + boosters. I took an at home test today, Tuesday around Noon and it showed a line on C and T really fast. I'm pretty sure I did it right.
Please keep yourselves safe and prepare.
It figures. The ONE time in the last few years that I had someone in my office chit chatting and unmasked. So we'll see how the next week plays out.

Date: 2022-11-01 06:12 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, you now have to stay home for a couple weeks to protect your fellow workers and will have to email boss lady with an attachment listing what you have already done for HER project, when you did it, and an apology that you can't help her more because you are so sick *cough, cough*. When life gives you lemons; squirt the juice in someone's face.

Date: 2022-11-01 06:20 pm (UTC)Yeah, our University seems not to care anymore. If I don't test positive, they'll want me in. If I get it, I might get lucky to get her to agree for me not to be in for a few days. The temptation to be "sick" even if I don't get very sick is strong, though.
Heh, I just sent her what I came up with for her unreasonable request already that she wanted by 4pm. Because I EXCEED deadlines.

Date: 2022-11-01 09:58 pm (UTC)Slap on your mask, go to the store. As much clear liquids as you can safely carry. Aspirin or Tylenol, no ibuprofen. Thermometer if you don’t have one. Fast track an Amazon delivery of a pulse oximeter.
Remember you’re fully vacced & boosted. And, hey, does this mean you get to work from home for a while.

I can't take Aspirin. I currently have Advil with acetaminophen and I think I have some plain acetaminophen around as well. I'll try to take the Advil as little as possible but currently it's about the only thing that keeps the back and knee arthritis/inflammation at bay.
I have a thermometer and a pulse ox. I have some groceries that I already ordered that are due to show up tomorrow and I've prepped some food. I'm having my laundry sent out thursday to come back Friday and I also have some things in a cart from Target that I've had there for a while. I added tissues, cough drops and juice. I just got an order of different kinds of tea which is convenient.
At the moment, the University is going with CDC guidelines which means that even though I was exposed, I still have to go to work (and mask, obviously). If I start to show symptoms or test positive, the guidance is at least 5 days which I don't think Bosslady will give me too much grief about.
Since I do need to go out in the next few days if and/or until the cooties make themselves known, I'm making sure to take out trash and recycling.
