First post-shot weigh in
Mar. 8th, 2026 08:28 amStepped on the scale this morning and it shows 201.3 so did lose several pounds. Trying to figure out what to eat is confusing but I'll figure it out. Since my body doesn't tell me I'm hungry right now but will give other signals but if I eat too much (and "too much" is far less than usual), I feel ill. So I have to prioritize eating what is good for the body.
I had one of those tiny Yakult light drinks to start things off about an hour ago. It's good for digestive health since it has probiotics. It did help make me feel a little better. While I was setting up the coffee maker for communal coffee, I pondered what to make next that would be balanced. I ended up with breakfast being a small slice of Wegmans six seed bread with a super thin smear of peanut butter (love that stuff from Whole Foods where it comes right from a peanut grinder with nothing added) and a small chicken breast skewer and a cup of coffee with some oat creamer. Note from not having posted this for about 15 minutes is that it may have been a little too much for right now. I should have just had the toast now and eaten the skewer later. Lesson learned.
I resurrected my MyFitnessPal just now. I hate tracking calories since it tends to make me neurotic but for the moment, I need to make sure that I'm doing it right. That breakfast was 394 calories.

Date: 2026-03-08 02:07 pm (UTC)We got back from Costco and the tummy went kaboom a bit. That's more what I'm used to but now I don't know whether I should take anything. I think I won't. Maybe I'll do Colace when I dose again on Wednesday. So confused.

Date: 2026-03-08 11:49 pm (UTC)Hooray for seeing lower numbers - although I laughed because you're just starting, and you're 10-15lbs above what appears to be my maintenance weight :D Yay bodies!

Date: 2026-03-09 12:19 am (UTC)If my diabetes is well managed, my BP is ok and my cholesterol is ok at "overweight" then that's fine with me. The last time I was ever in the "normal" range was kindergarten.

Date: 2026-03-09 03:39 pm (UTC)For my height, BMI says I should be between 128-168lbs!
If I starved myself and didn't carry any muscle, I could possibly get down to 168 or so, but no thank you.
My doctor has (thankfully) never EVER quoted the BMI at me, she has actually never even suggested a target weight.
So yeah - definitely go by the other numbers and by what you feel like! And don't forget to strength train as you lose weight!

Date: 2026-03-09 03:44 pm (UTC)I'll be off to the Y in a few minutes to get back to trudging in the pool! If I can do that twice a week and then use the stuff at home (walking pad, sitting elliptical and some 8 pound weights that Emily has), then I should be able to get more fit. When I'm comfortable with that, I'll start using the heavier weight machines at the gym. I need to be extra careful with weight training since with hypermobility, I am NOT supposed to fully extend my arms or legs or I'd risk hyperextension. But getting on more muscle is absolutely an aim
