Gotta figure things out myself, it seems

The sinuses started rearing their ugly head on Thursday so yeah, likely not shampoo in the ear causing vertigo. I'd waited all day for a response from my doctor only at the end of the day get a response with some suggestions of positions to use to get rid of vertigo. I responded early Friday morning about it definitely being sinusitis and that I also got a little bit of nose bleeding. No response. Though considering that I've heard about right now with doctors offices and ERs being absolutely overwhelmed, I'm not shocked.

So mid morning yesterday I bundled up, masked up (which by the way, that helps a LOT with sinus issues since it keeps your nose humidified) and mailed a box to my parents that I'd been needing to send and stopped by RiteAid for some stuff for the ol' head. I got Benadryl and since I don't ever remember taking that before, I was too nervous to try it yesterday so I just took one a couple of hours ago. My head feels slightly less plugged but clearly I can't take this stuff and go to work since I'm struggling to stay awake.

I'd go take a nap but I have a batch of vegan stuffed cabbage with napa, impossible meat and other bits in the oven. It should be done soon, I think. I didn't really use a recipe so hopefully it turns out good. I'll save a couple of servings in the freezer so that should start off Veganuary well.

If I might offer advice - do you have a neti-pot? Not the kind you spray straight up into your sinuses but one that looks like a pot - or an itty bitty watering can? I've had sinus problems all my life and the one thing that truly helped was the neti. Yes, I know, it sounds icky but it works.

Yeah, I've been using the kind where you squeeze the bottle and have been also adding a bit of raw honey to it. It always seems that my symptoms get worse when I use it but it's probably more that it makes the gunk unstuck from the giant mass in my head.

I have a really wet cold and last night when I tried to lie down, I had a coughing fit. So, I got up and did a neti. It helped move all that 'gunk' and I actually got some good sleep. I wish you the same!

Thanks! I've not been brave enough to try lying on my right side yet but I'm having a little better luck sleeping propped up with pillows on my back. I think I'll also take another Benadryl at bedtime since that should knock me out too.

I can't even LOOK at Benadryl without getting sleepy.
