Oh the indignity

Got the boy into the vet this morning. Poor kid - the doctor did some manual poo removal. She didn't think he's in too bad of shape but for some unknown reason, obviously he's somewhat dehydrated. Since the girl is also having intermittent issues, she agrees that one of my foods must be causing an issue. They recommended some Miralax until the both of them are back to normal and as much fluids as I can manage to get in them.

Some different brand food that they've had this brand before arrived along with some treats we've had in the past so we'll start to transition that back in and try the process of elimination to find the problem food/treat.

So that I wouldn't have to traumatize the guy again, we did his follow-up thyroid bloodwork a month early and got his rabies shot. They also did some subQ fluids to help. He's gone to the box a few times since we got home about half an hour ago so his system is pushing out the poops.

$500 though. Ugh. And naturally his sister is NOT happy with the stinky boy. Yeah, chick, you're overdue for a visit so don't get too comfortable being sassy.

I do feel somewhat better, but I hope that this resolves the issues. Also, it’s gonna be at least a couple of days of being a referee to the cats, because JuneBug is an absolute asshole every time he goes to the vet.

Once he was comfortable sitting with me, he got plenty of snuggles. And even though he's been eating fine through all of this, yesterday that boy wanted FOOD. I had to keep putting him off.

Well phrased. Yeah, I'm back to my usual levels of "somewhat ugh." I get congestion in the morning but I pretty much always do.
