Short backstory that I don't think I've told before. Dad's had some bullies at the assisted living place. Some woman with a harem of dudes, even before her husband died there, started harassing Dad when he would open his door slightly when it would get too warm in his room. Then when he told her to go away, she started recruiting her fuck buddies (side note: ew. I refer to her as Crusty Crotch) to talk outside his room making threats to break in and steal whatever he was using to prop the door, I think a trash can.
It died down for a while but recently picked back up. He ignores them but the talk got more than a bit disturbing when he overheard the "big guy" that's his neighbor (and also evidently dying?) saying something about getting in and setting fire to Dad's stuff. WTF?!?! Dad told the people at the facility and he thinks that the woman got kicked out but I don't think so since it wouldn't happen that fast. If she wasn't there, maybe she went to go stay with family for the night or something.
Anyway, Dad called me around 7:30 last night afraid that the guy wanted to get in and kill him because he's angry about the woman. Dad locked his door but the guy keeps coming by and knocking and asking for "help." Seems he's smart enough not to make direct threats but Dad's not dumb. Dad called Sis who did NOTHING except give him the main number to the facility (who at night it goes right to voice mail) and also suggested he call the non-emergency police number or 911. She seemed unconcerned when I mentioned that even if he called them, he'd have no idea how to tell them where he is. THANKS SIS.
So I emailed the head of the facility that to her credit, got back to me in two minutes and said she'd get hold of them and send someone around. She got back to me about 15 minutes later that they checked on Dad and he'd fallen asleep and for me to give her a call to discuss things this afternoon since she knows who the players are. She certainly doesn't need a repeat of bad press from something that happened in the past so seems they'll take care of the trouble. Hope so.
Seems like it's high school all over again and the bully squad has targeted the (now) skinny guy. Nice to know that Sis and BIL can strongarm him to "find God" but GOD FORBID they actually HELP him when he's threatened.
Emily said that he should mention that his other daughter lives in Jersey and can send thugs. Hell, if it works, sure. Both Elaine and my other roomie are Italian. I'm sure they know people who know people (they thought this was hilarious, btw).
ANYWAY, enough stress this week with work at another high of bullshit shenanigans and disrespect and having to take JuneBug in for another expensive ultrasound on Friday because her liver and other blood tests are off.

Date: 28 Feb 2024 15:50 (UTC)If you need more mob backing, the friend I have been telling you about is Bronx Italian-American and has a very similar last name to one of the Genovese family capos. My friend's nickname at the library was "Vinnie da Bulldog" because of how persistent he was tracking down missing books, but sounds like a hit man doesn't it? If he were feeling up to it he would call the troublemakers and "go Bronx on their asses". He is pretty good at it and falls back into the Bronx accent easily.
I hope Junie gets better soon.

Date: 28 Feb 2024 23:35 (UTC)Bullies, JFC! This is horrible, I hate this for your dad. The 'antics' of talking so he'll overhear... Crusty Crotch - EW yeah, but also an apt name. Hope she and her studs all get VD.
The place in FL, the uber big retirement place? The reports of so much sexually transmitted diseases, it's the worst in the state. Ewww.
I hate this for your dad, I really do. He's just been finding his balance after so much and now this... unnecessary shit from awful people. Wish your sis and bil would be more proactive w. the care place about it, it makes a difference to actually show up and talk to them in person. We learned that w. Mike's mom.
