missdiane: (Holy grail killer bunny)

Feel like death because of course on this hell of a week, Aunt Flo decides to stop by and say hi, kicking in the door and knocking everything off shelves. Bitch.

Dad got discharged yesterday even though he hadn't had a bowel movement. Hopefully the nurse at the assisted living can help him out. He is sounding far better, at least. He also is going to rely on me to screen the menu and food at work. Sure, I have nothing better to do. Why not?

Do NOT miss Auntie Flo. Pre-hysterectomy, she moved in for 730 days straight, except for a couple brief evictions by D & C, but the second one only lasted three days. When we finally gave up on very high dose hormones and started talking hysterectomy, the GYN suggested a less drastic surgery that might help, but would "preserve my ability to have children" I threatened to kill him. Even one woman on the jury and I'd have been acquitted.

Glad you dad is doing better. Make sure he gets adequate water and enough food to give him something to get rid of. Tell him if he doesn't eat, the staff will hold him down and give him castor oil; he's old enough to remember it. (Pretty sure it is no longer recommended.)

I was 43, single and not dating, and had already told him when we were trying hormones that I had absolutely NO intention of ever having children, and that my orthopedic surgeon had recommend I avoid pregnancy because it would make my arthritis much worse. But, you know, all women want lots of babies.
