Heart is in regular rhythm so attempt two of surgery is commencing. Send up all vibes, prayers, spells, crossables that this one is successful and recovery is good.

EDIT. Made it through ok. They are putting the last of the stitches in and will be waking him up soon. Hopefully they have some better tasting food since he said the food yesterday was bland lol. He needs to be on the Pudge Plan.

Whew, this is very good news that he's come through surgery okay. I imagine he is in for a long spell of therapy and recovery, but that will be managed.

I know you must be so relieved and grateful.

I'm hoping my sister can get Dad into a rehab that's close to them so she can drop by now and then. I haven't tried calling the hospital to talk to Dad since they had a lot of trouble getting through. They went by to visit him last night and facetimed with me so I did get to see him.

I'm feeling a lot better. We still have a lot to figure out and also to get him mental health rehab at the same time so he doesn't have to go back to the Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry where he was injured after being there ONE day.

Fingers crossed that he gets into a goo rehab place where your sister can visit AND that he avoids the mental health facility of doom!

Way to go, dad! Let's just keep the heart rhythm steady and make progress with the PT. I think having the psychiatrist evaluate him in the hospital and get him on some helpful meds is a good idea.

He will not be happy with his first post-op meal. It is nearly always a liquid one to get the digestion started again. Bouillon, Jell-O, Italian ice, fruit juice, and coffee or tea. If he handles that then he will get real food. Well, as real as hospital food gets.
