When Elaine and I were speculating about our new director (we were right, by the way), I sent his website to Emily and her first reaction?
"He looks like Ted McGinley with a beard"
New Bossman stopped by to meet with our admin (good start, bud, good start) and hehehe, he looks even MORE like Ted McGinley in person.
Not that I told him that. But I told my officemate Regina who had a good chuckle and agreed.

Date: 9 Jan 2025 17:15 (UTC)Ages and ages ago, I worked on a project where I spent months where I was on the phone daily with a customer named Jack. I talked to him constantly.
And then one day, I heard Jack's voice in the hallway coming toward our office - and I stood up and looked over the cube walls and said "I know that voice!"
Jack walks in with my boss - and we met in person, for the first time.
And I was CRUSHED - because the voice did NOT match the person - I could not have told you what I *thought* Jack would look like, but clearly I did have SOME expectation - because my initial reaction was "that can't be Jack" LOL
He was a smallish, thin guy, with short dark hair, a sharp pointy nose and a thin mustache - I guess I had him as a taller, blond guy? I dunno. All I knew was that my brain was going "buh?" the whole time we were chatting in person :D
