Two week follow up at the doc, my BP was a little high but that's because we were a few minutes late from trying to help with a runaway pomeranian in our neighborhood (pom was caught, btw, and was grinning up a storm when Emily held him, little booger)
They thought I'd be "easy" but welp, guess you're not supposed to still be seeping with a gap in the wound at this stage. Ooops. I didn't call since I thought it was typical or normal or something. Bah. Anyway, she had to call in the other doc for a second opinion of poking around in the gap I have to make sure it wasn't too deep. Thankfully they didn't think it was but unfortunately since it's the way it is, they had to pack in gauze which will need to be changed daily and I can't do it myself. I mean I WOULD but the logistics of trying to lift my apron to get to the wound site and do it is a no go.
But evidently it's going to have to be changed DAILY for a while so I need to go in tomorrow. Though I laughed because Emily wasn't wanting to go to a lunch with her annoying uncle and this would get her out of it. Also, she's packed wounds on her Dad so she'll come in so they can show her what's up so she can help me do at home. Do I want to be that kind of besties? Well no, but we're to the old lady stage of talking about regular bowel movements so meh, gotta do what ya gotta do. But still, BAH, I was hoping that things were just slow, not in need of extra attention. PHOOEY.
She called in the other doctor so they could poke at things with Q Tips to make sure I wouldn't have to go back to the OR and thankfully it seems it's just the first few layers. They were wondering why I wasn't wincing and all that so I did go "Ow" for them. I mean it's going to hurt some, no sense being dramatic about it.

Glad it's not too bad and you don't have to do more than keep an eye on it and change dressings! Hopefully they give you better information on what to be looking for so you can let them know if things are not proceeding as expected, once you are not going in daily!
