Last week I posted this "Oh and because I noted some odd looking colors on the bandage change Thursday, doc sent in a culture just to make sure things are kosher. That'll ease the mind further."

Yeah, got an email from labcorp.


Seriously? Can I not get a break already? Haven't heard from the doctor's office yet but I see antibiotics in my near future. I am so annoyed. I was hoping for "no growth" and get a two fer one.

If you don’t hear from the doc’s office today, start calling them at 8am tomorrow and keep calling until you have a prescription called in.

Be nice, but be insistent.

I won’t lie, those are not wonderful organisms to have in a wound, but they’re incredibly treatable and curable.

I had to message them today with my FMLA updated paperwork anyway to extend my leave until the beginning of December. I didn’t hear back yet, but I fortunately already had an appointment tomorrow morning for the next wound packing change.

Other than that one time where we saw greenish deposit last week on the gauze, I haven’t been showing any symptoms that I know of. Clearly my system has been working to fight things off. But yeah, it needs some extra help.
