Family rollercoaster ride

Sis broke Dad out of nursing home jail yesterday to take him over to close out Mom's locked bank account (thank goodness he was also on the account) so that Sis could get most of it on a cashier's check to pay off the nursing home for Mom and then she took him for a quick tour of the new place where they gave him hugs and he is SO excited. I got the word later yesterday that he can move in there Monday and they can move what stuff they saved from the apartment over the holiday weekend (bed, rocking chair, a few other furniture items and small bits and bobs, including the all-important keurig). That is timely since while he was out, they moved out the furniture on "Mom's" side of the room and put his clothing from a piece of furniture on his bed. Sounds like they're prepping to put someone in with him. Also timely because yet again his clothes are disappearing when he has them take the clothes to wash, even though they're all labeled. It pisses me off since I got him four pairs of pants from Lands End and Sis got him a couple and he had some from before and yet now he only has six total pairs?

Anyway, so moving is good news. And then there's the other fun. I messaged the niece on IG since she posted an "I'm dying" to the notes and it sounds like by her symptoms like she has the latest Covid variant. She noted that no one else in the family has it but if it's the latest, they'll get it and personally as much of assholes that the brother and SIL have been, I don't care if they get it. Oh yeah, they're still unvaccinated so that should be a fun ride for them again and a fitting birthday present for my brother since his birthday is Thanksgiving this year. This would be karma for saying things like "Mom would still be alive if she didn't go to the nursing home" shit to Dad.

Then a text comes early this morning from Sis that she's been in the hospital since midnight last night and might possibly be gallbladder. Hopefully if they need to move on that they can do it laparoscopically and get her back home. She clearly won't be able to help move things for Dad on the weekend but home for the holiday is best. I told her to reach out to some long-time family friends that have burly sons and grandsons and see if they're in the area for the weekend and can help move the few things (I don't have their contact information).

Back is worse at the moment so I have emailed out for the rest of the week. I'm going to try to do a webclass lying down with my iPad in about an hour since I need to finish it so that next semester I can take the last required class to get a research admin microcredential.
