Of COURSE the people delivering the fridge arrived a little after 11 when the big chairs council meeting starts at noon. Thankfully they were quick enough about it and I hobble-speedwalked out and made it to the location in plenty of time.
The meeting started promptly at noon and there was a little chitchat and then about ten minutes in I was ON to go up and present and field questions and all that jazz. How did I do?

Even though it was a presentation, it was pretty much an open question one which I had no problems fielding any of them. Bosslady did insert some commentary on some which fine. Some of it also was deflecting the usual complaints about how our funding doesn't give them much (since they get $5000/year for bits and stuff like supplies, student hourlies, etc.). But they always seem to dismiss that a hefty hunk of their SALARIES are what is paid with it. They never seem to see that as "real" money. Yeah, cast your mind back to when you didn't have tenure and had to fund yourself, folks. That money is very real. Anyhoo, I think it went well and I put some names to faces but it was more of them now knowing what *I* look like since there were only a few folks that had a chance to introduce themselves.
The building is only a few years old but boy they didn't do a good job of making it all that accessible. I had to walk SO far around the building to get to the ground floor entrance and had to investigate that beforehand as there are no signs anywhere about where to go. I did spot a parking lot that would have been slightly closer but from what I hear, it never has spaces free. There was a chair I could have sat on to present but it was one of those higher stools and while it had a back, I was leery to try to get on it, lest I wobble off. So with the stress and the walking and then standing and presenting for an hour, I am BEAT.
I did get all my geegaws on the front of the fridge but I have stuff to put on the top but not right now. I also bought condiments and stuff but again, not right now. I did transfer the stuff I had in the cooler to the fridge and I had scrubbed my brita and put in a new filter.
But here are some pictures of the new fridge behind the cut
