Last weekend with Emily doing my wound care, by the time we got to Monday morning, it was looking pretty good. I told my doctor this, and she did think it looked improved aside from a little bubble of skin where there was a bump when i initially took off the surgical dressing. But she proceeded to scrape around in there and overpack it. I was uncomfortable after that, but trusted the process. When Emily went to change the packing the next day, it was like a clown car of gauze and was pretty saturated. I was rather annoyed since it seemed like it aggravated something that didn’t need aggravated. When I went in the next day to the doctor to have it changed again, I told her that I thought it was had been overpacked and then I was uncomfortable. She chuckled and did it again.

When Emily went to change things on Thursday, the gauze taped to my wound, didn’t look that great and was pretty saturated. Emily cleaned me up and didn’t think that it looked like there was any infection thankfully and got me packed again, but not too heavily. Around three this morning, the boy decided to barf up a hairball on my bed and I instinctively got up quickly to take care of it. I don’t know if it was that or just something else, but when I went to the bathroom, I noticed that the well taped wound had leaked, and when I took off the bandage it was a good amount of bright red. I felt bad waking Emily up to help but I was very upset. She got things inspected repacked and re-bandaged and said that it didn’t look immediately serious but yeah, definitely need to keep an eye on it.

I see the other doctor in the practice at 11:30 this morning and will express my concerns and hopefully we don’t have to do more than changing the packing and such again. I really don’t want to go in and have to have anything surgically fixed since I don’t do well with anesthesia and I don’t want more hospital time. I’m really tired. I thought things were getting better.

Substitute doc had the same assessment as Emily that my lurch up when JonJon horked popped a blood vessel. But fortunately (fingers crossed), things still look to be slowly healing ok since there wasn't a lot of bright red on the gauze we slapped over things at 4am. But DAMN body, would you CHILL and HEAL already?

Oh and because I noted some odd looking colors on the bandage change Thursday, doc sent in a culture just to make sure things are kosher. That'll ease the mind further.

I'm getting frustrated and exhausted since I started off post-surgery so well. They also reinforced REST so keeping walking to not excessive, bending to only when critical and lifting anything of significance is forbidden.

Once I get a nap in soon, or attempted nap, maybe I'll try reading. It's extra annoying that my attention span is still short. Ah well.

But thank you for the continued good vibes.
