My GP recommended that I finish off the antibiotics (which naturally I forgot this morning) even though my tests indicate that I probably don't have a UTI. But she also recommended that I go see a urogynecologist and suggested a few. I didn't know that there were doctors that did both but that makes a lot of sense.
The website for my insurance has a terrible search engine and when I first put in the specialty, it only gave me two people, neither of which were ones my doc suggested. One that didn't seem to have the "gyn" portion but had decent reviews if that was my only option and the second that was more of the "gyn" but had VERY disturbing reviews and was an instant NOPE.
I figured that they couldn't be my only options so I was able to combine my Google-fu with searching websites and the insurance sites and found individual listings for the urogynecologists from the practices my doc suggested. Two of them have glowing reviews so I chose one that also had rave reviews for the staff and gave a call and left a message. They called back less than an hour later and I have an appointment for this coming Monday the 23rd at 8:30am. The staff person was super nice so even though I'm still going to be a nervous wreck, at least I know I'll be in good, kind hands.
I am way past due for the dreaded female poking so I'm guessing that they'll do that too. Yuck. Well, needs done.
