My neck does have a tendency to tense up and then do this, though it's usually one of those "wake up on the wrong side of bed" issues. It's slowly getting better, thankfully. I was thinking of going to the laundromat today instead of on the weekend but I don't think it would be smart to chance it today so I'll give it another day or two.
