A belated Friday Five on Monday. These questions come to us from [personal profile] miss_s_b on Dreamwidth. I don't think I saw this the first time it was posted a few months ago so I'll answer them now.

1, What is your favourite food?
Dim Sum. Hands down. Especially har gow

2, What is your favourite food preparation method?
Roasted - it makes vegetables even more fabulous than they already are

3, What is your favourite cuisine or style of cooking?

See #1. If I could only pick one country's food prep, it would be China (which is kind of a cheat since there are so many different regional variations)

4, Do you have any dietary restrictions and if so what are they?
Light on red meat and raw onions since they don't like me. I also avoid deep fried food

5, If you could introduce the whole world to one ingredient to improve their culinary experience, what would that be and why?
Sesame oil. It takes an ordinary dish and elevates it.

I'm just too much of a foodie to be able to narrow it down the way you did. I love it all.

I know I "like" or even "love" a lot of other cuisines like Italian, Mexican, etc. But given my choice, I'll opt for Asian cuisine every time.

Not me - it totally depends upon how I'm feeling that particular day.

I agree with roasting being the yummiest way to get your veggies.

My answers are based on Right This Minute because I do enjoy a good meal.

1. The Dragon Broccoli at Fresh.

2. I love throwing a selection of roasted veggies into some quinoa and a nice salad dressing

3. At the moment, I love the smell of Indian food. The spices are nice and warming.

4. I'm a vegan. I tend to me mostly gluten free because the doc says have a gluten sensitivity. I also try to eat a lot of veggies and not fall back on too much bread and pasta and sugar. I try.

5, Red Star Nutritional Yeast. Provides a nice cheeeziness to all kinds of food and a boatload of B vitamins including B12. I put it on pasta, in salad dressings, popcorn...anything savory.

When I'm not up for cooking, I'll be getting my exercise come late January when the place on campus that has roasted veggies on the SALAD BAR opens up when the kids return. So freaking good.

Red Star? I'll have to try that brand. I've not done anything much with "Nooch" yet. Hey, what about miso? Use that much?

Or pretty much any brand nowadays, just check the nutrition label.

I use miso rarely though maybe I should. I love sunflower butter as a base for salad dressing, Just a teaspoon or so.
