Dad's interview visit with the person from the assisted living place went really well. He said that she really liked him and laughed when he asked if he could occasionally have a beer (yes, that's allowed lol). According to Sis, the person that visited Dad said to the person that has been dealing with Sis that "we need to snap him up quick!" Here's hoping we can get the money part figured out quickly enough since Sis would love to move him before Thanksgiving.

This morning I stepped on the scale since I just thought I was looking particularly big and because my aches and pains have aches and pains and my stomach has been swelling again. Yeah, holy crap. 207 is REALLY BAD. Well, it'll keep me busy to try to concentrate more on eating healthier and to make the Xmas present to myself to get the number starting with 1 again. Five weeks at a pound and a half a week each will accomplish this in a slow and safe manner. Committing my brain to this will hopefully help me to not overindulge during any holiday events and emotional overeating. First task, figure out Thanksgiving. I'll be flying solo and I do want to get a bit of turkey. Just need to make some healthy veggies and stuff to go with it.

Emily and I did a wander at Ikea on Wednesday. I got some small bits and bobs that I needed and a bigger one that Emily was awesome - and naughty - to bring upstairs for me. I was thinking of getting an end table for each side of the couch since right now I have a decade old $10 black table from Ikea on one side - a lid and four legs. To have it fit with the new couch, I had some tight dimensions. The skinnier one I saw online is nice looking but really small and since I keep one of the kitty water bowls on that end table, I think I'll still just do the one end table look. I found another table that's the same design as the tiny end tables but a little bigger than my current table and has space underneath for storage which will come in very handy. I wondered why I didn't see it online and it's technically because they classify this as a coffee table. Well, either way, it will upgrade the space in both looks and usefulness. I'll try to assemble it this weekend and dispose of the current cheap table.

There's other stuff but my brain stopped. Weekend soon!

That sounds so promising for your Dad - I hope it all works out smoothly!

That's a neat table - it doesn't look like an IKEA table at all!

Oh LACK - the ubiquitous cheap table of my university years :D Mine was a bright turquoise blue and I only got rid of it a few years ago, tbh :D

Oh I do like the matching bookcase! That's quite a nice set, and I like the blue - it's different!
