The rescue that's associated with people on campus sent something to the personals listserv on Friday and Emily decided that we had to go - to the 86th Garden State Cat Expo. It was only $22 for tickets which also serves as a fundraiser.

Emily made sure to take some medicine before we left and we were probably the only ones wearing masks (which also helped with her allergies) but it was a nice time. We said hello to the tons of cats and kittens from several rescues which it was nice to see plenty of "Adopted!" signs on the way out. There were plenty of vendors selling nice quality things and you could also see about every kind of domesticated cat at the many judging areas.

I purchased some silvervine sticks since I know JonJon loves those and I got a snuggle bag thing that I hope JuneBug will try out since she likes to burrow sometimes. I also got some cheap but cute jewelry, some good quality chocolates and some free samples from a brand I was thinking of trying for JuneBug. I've never given them rabbit and if she likes it, I'll get some more and put it in rotation since she's supposed to be eating more novel proteins for her health.

There was a small food stand area off to one side with some tables where we got a drink and sat for a bit to rest our feet since expo centers have such hard floors. I also got cards and flyers from some different places that I liked their items but wasn't ready to purchase anything. One I'll definitely order from if Emily and I can ever get our Golden Girls house is one that makes cat trees of all sizes that seemed like excellent quality. Some of them used branches and were expensive but when I move, I'll need to replace one or two of the trees I have since they're pretty torn up.

Tomorrow morning we're going to do a small trip down to Princeton to Wegmans for a few items and to Cherry Grove Farms. They sent an email that they have some new baby cows that I was hoping to see and I also like their fancy condiments and cheeses. We won't be out too long since it's supposed to get right up into the mid-90s but we did want to get out some before it was back to the long work week.

Other than that, Dad's up and down but still around. I need to find a way to eat healthier with the even worse heat wave coming up early next week. I don't know if it's weather or something up but in the early evenings, I've been feeling overwhelmingly tired and just unwell and end up napping before the kitties pester me for food.
