As if I wasn't discouraged enough, I saw an email that sent me OVER this morning and they're going to find out how bad of an idea it is to anger the All Knowing One.

I was already pissy this morning because Elaine was blah blahing about the pointless interview we have on Thursday with someone that is not at all qualified for the position that will report to her. If they're concerned about getting someone hired before a hiring freeze, then open the stupid listing again and get a few more realistic possibilities. She kept at it until I couldn't handle it and told her that I'm tired. I'm tired of being ignored, tired of my suggestions being blown off and tired of this whole "team" thing being one sided and not on mine. She tried to suggest that the person get trained by me, yadda yadda and no, I said that needs to come from the Team Leader(tm) which I'm not expecting since my boss isn't paying attention to my emails as it is.

Wellll, this morning I got pissed off yet again as I was forwarded shit from the Civil Rights Audit that former Bosslady Wendie dropped the ball on back in 2022. Over two years later, the lawyers got something from USDA which they forwarded to Wendie in January who she punted to Josh and the HR office in January which he SAT ON FOR TWO MONTHS even though it said the due date to respond to USDA with plans to correct stuff was FEBRUARY 17. Nice job there, buddy.

So I get an email to schedule a meeting with me, him and the useless douchebag from HR about how to respond. Yeah, you can leave me the fuck out of it like Bosslady did. I don't know shit. Also, where is the TEAM on this? You know, the TEAM?

As I'm typing this, I get Hi Diane,

Please disregard - the university already reached out to USDA in February, so no further action is needed.

Ok, well since it has to do with the stuff that I do the daily management of, y'all going to share what the response was? Yeah, you know what? Nevermind, I don't want to know. Oh and while I was grousing about that and how it was above my pay grade, Elaine had the audacity to suggest that I go all in to solve it and maybe I'll get an upgrade this time.

I told her I don't need any more empty promises and smoke blown up my ass.

I always found HR less than helpful. They told me the way things were supposed to be, and I knew how things were.

Grouse here. WE are more than willing to listen and who knows, someone might have a helpful suggestion. Lord knows *I* don't. This is stress you don't need with the move coming up. Sending good vibes, it seems, is ALL I can do. And I do.

Our HR is absolutely useless. But on some of the items from the audit, we're going to need to know what was communicated to USDA.

About 11:45, Elaine started talking to our suite-mate Regina and then they went into Regina's office and shut the door to talk. Ok, I'd had enough and packed up and left. I'm so very glad I decided to take tomorrow morning off to do errands and just be away from the office. I have the pointless zoom interview at 2pm and I'm not going to paint on any sort of happy airs. I'll just be quiet and ask my questions and nod absently.

The USDA needed answers on things like more Title VI training (which I already knew the University doesn't do) and the statistics on our faculty getting funding and such and things that OUR websites don't say. So uh, we kind of need to know how they responded. I'll say that to Josh and if he doesn't do anything, well fucker, that's why you get paid one hell of a lot more than me.

I'm just so disappointed that it's rinse and repeat through now director #3 over the last decade+. My stuff is always shunted to the side and it's just understood that I'll handle it even though everyone gets upgrades and help.

Well fuck this whole "team" bullshit. If I get corrected one more time, I'm going to have an extremely difficult time keeping my mouth shut about it.

Elaine clearly tattled since I got an email from Josh talking about how he wanted to chat because he just left the conference that is about the land-grant stuff and had questions and is energized and yadda yadda. But two of us can pretend since I should've kept my mouth shut to Elaine, though MAN can she push buttons. Although he covered very well, I did quite the Oscar-worthy performance. Before we have any sort of "serious" chat about things, I want that in person, not on the phone. However, I did do a roundabout conversation about "things that need improved that have been off for some time" and pretty much threw former Bosslady under the bus (as I should since she fucked that audit up SO BAD and ignored me for two years to the point that I had to tattle to the Ethics office to get her damned attention and she STILL fucked it up further). He's also not - justifiably - happy that he found out yesterday that our campus HR evidently responded to USDA without including him on the response and still hasn't sent him how they responded. Sorry you inherited a shit show, bud. Now you see why I need help.

So I so far come off looking like Ms Responsibility - which I AM - and he knows and he learned at this conference that my stuff is in no way easy and needs more attention. Which we'll see if that happens.

And also, my performance was such that if Elaine acted to him like I was about to freak out, he'll wonder what she was going on about since I sounded slightly frustrated but otherwise toooooootally fine.
