KPop fun

When Emily drives, most times she has it on either NPR or the KPop channel. I noticed there were a lot of songs that I really liked by one particular girl group, Aespa. I usually favor boy groups but every song by Aespa they play, I find myself bopping around to.

Also, I like the girl-positive message, like in their song "Rich Man" (turn on subtitles for all the lyrics)

I like that - it reminds me of my mom's friend, who has a daughter my brother D's age.

The mom was always "you should marry a geek, they have money" - she really wanted D to get together with my brother M. The mom didn't want to work, she wanted a husband to take care of her.

Meanwhile, the daughter ignored her mom, got a job in a bank, worked her way up, bought herself a house - meanwhile mom is all "you need a husband!" and daughter is just rolling her eyes like "I can do for myself, thanks"

I'm actually quite impressed because the daughter always seemed kind of passive - but it sounds like she never *actively* argued with her mom, just...did for herself :D
