I too believe I'm a realist and also a devil's advocate. I see things as they are but love to take the opposite stance if needed.

I think I am more of an optimist these days than I ever have been. It's weird. I think I used to be a pessimist. I'd believe everything would go wrong, worry, etc. However, when I see other people being pessimistic I do everything in my power to try to turn that around. I am a listener and a helper. I want people to be happy. This has made me more optimistic in general.
